Learn how to link your Instagram account to your Facebook page so as to get the most out of Instagram’s business tools

Link Instagram to Facebook Page
To fully utilize QuickQuill’s Instagram features, your Instagram Business or Creator profile needs to be connected to a Facebook Page. Doing this allows you to get access to valuable tools like posts and account insights.
Not sure if your Instagram profile is connected to your Facebook Page or need to set it up now? Don’t worry, you’re in the right place!
Note: If you don’t have a Facebook Page yet, you’ll need to create one first. You’ll also need to have an Instagram Business or Creator profile to proceed. To learn how to switch your Instagram account from personal profile to business or creator profile click here.
Check if your Instagram account is already connected to your page
If you already have a Facebook Page but aren’t sure whether your Instagram profile is linked, or want to confirm it’s the correct one, this guide will help you with that.
Tip: It is important to have admin access control to your Facebook page in order to be able to connect your Instagram account to your page.
- Log into your Facebook page.
- Click Pages on the left side of the menu.
- Select the page you want to check
- On the page’s dashboard, click settings. You’ll be required to to switch to the page you want to connect.

- In the settings menu, look for Linked Accounts, click on it and then click on Instagram

If you have an Instagram account connected to your Facebook page already, you’ll see the Instagram username and account details displayed.
If it’s not connected, you’ll see an option to Connect Account.
If the connected account is the wrong Instagram profile, click on the Instagram profile > Disconnect account > Yes, disconnect. Then you can proceed to connect the correct Instagram profile.
Link your Instagram account to your Facebook page through Facebook.
If you have followed through the steps in the above section and found that you do not have an Instagram account linked to your Facebook page, follow these steps to connect one
- Click Connect Account.
- Toggle on the option to “Allow access to Instagram messages in your Inbox” then click Confirm. When this is enabled, anyone who manages your Facebook page will be able to view and respond to Instagram messages directly from the page inbox.
- A pop-up will appear asking you to log in to Instagram.
- Log into the Instagram account (business/creator profile) you want to be linked to your Facebook.
Once logged in Facebook will confirm that your Instagram is connected to the page.
Note: If your Instagram account is currently set as a personal profile, you’ll be prompted with “Which Best Describes You?” and asked to switch to a Business or Creator profile. Select the category that best describes your business or service and confirm the change. This change is also required to access features like Auto Publish and Insights on QuickQuill.
To confirm that your account has been linked, follow the steps in the “check your current connection” section of this article.
Link your Instagram account to your Facebook page through Instagram.
If you want to link your account through Instagram instead, here’s how you can do that:
- Log into your Instagram account.
- Tap on your profile photo at the bottom right corner.
- Click Edit profile.
- Select page then select continue.

- A connect Facebook page modal will pop up. Select log in to Facebook.
- Select the Facebook page you want to connect or click create a new Facebook page if you don’t already have one.
- Tap Done and you have successfully Linked your Instagram account to your Facebook page.
If you get any error notifications at this point you should try connecting through Facebook.
Troubleshooting common errors.
- Pop-up Window Not Appearing: If you don’t see the pop-up window from Facebook or Instagram when trying to connect your accounts. Your browser (or a browser extension) may be blocking it. Enable pop-ups in your browser settings, refresh the page and try again.
- Error: “You can’t select this profile because you’re not an Admin of the connected Facebook Page”: This error means you don’t have the right permissions. To fix it, you must have Facebook access with full control for the Page. Ask the Page owner to update your role or ask them to make the connection themselves.
- Can’t Access the Linked Accounts Page on Facebook: If you’re unable to open your Page’s Linked Accounts settings you may not have the correct role on the Page. Confirm that you have Admin access with full control.
- Error: “Page is already linked to Instagram account.”: If you see this message on Instagram, it means the Facebook Page is already connected to another Instagram account. Facebook only allows one Instagram profile per Page. Check your current connection in the Page settings. If needed, disconnect the existing Instagram account to free up the Page.
- Unable to Confirm Connection: If you don’t have the option to confirm the connection You’ll need to ask the Page owner (with full control) to complete the connection for you.
